Visualizing the tip of the needle

The tip of the needle is visualized best when the bevel and the probe are perpendicular (90°):

On the right, when the probe is tilted until it is perpendicular to the needle (in red), the needle tip is far more prominent in the ultrasound image (below), compared with holding the probe perpendicular to the skin surface on the left.
